Royal celebrations are just one day away.
Tomorrow, June 2, the nation will come together to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee - the start of a four-day celebration of everything British.
Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning monarch in Britain's history, so millions of people are expected to take to the streets for parties, picnics and lunches.
As the long weekend approaches, here’s a round-up of everything going on in Southampton and Eastleigh on Thursday - the first day of celebrations.
From street parties to picnics, there’s something for everyone.
Street Parties
Redhill Close and Holyrood Avenue will both be closed for street parties
Events for children
Children-only Jubilee party – Totton and Eling Community Centre, 3-5pm

Picnics & teas
Family-friendly picnic (plus crafts and stalls) – St James’Park, from 11am. Bring a picnic and get comfy for this event run by Friends of St James’ Park. Guests can expect crown-making crafts, a tombola, a Jubilee-themed trail and more. Come dressed as a Royal to enter the fancy dress competition!
Jubilee afternoon tea – Tudor House and Garden, 1-2.30pm. Enjoy a selection of sandwiches and scones at Tudor House Café. Toast to the Queen from only £5 per glass of prosecco
Beacon lighting
Knowle Park beacon lighting – Knowle Park in Fair Oak, from 8.30pm. Meet at the Trig Point to celebrate the Jubilee with Fair Oak & Horton Heath Parish Council. For more info call 023 8069 2403.
Queen’s Peace Fountain beacon lighting – Queen’s Peace Fountain in East Park, 9.45pm. The beacon will be lit simultaneously with other beacons throughout the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and overseas territories.
